BYD ATTO 3 awarded the highest rating "five-star safety" by Euro NCAP (14/10/2022)

BYD’s electric vehicle ATTO 3, exclusively distributed by JCM Hong Kong, earned the highest honour a “Five-star Safety” in the latest safety ratings published by Euro NCAP in October 2022, which means that ATTO 3 has excellent overall performance in impact protection, and is equipped with comprehensive and powerful collision avoidance system. It further affirms BYD's efforts in producing the safest electric vehicle, and its safety performance has reached a world-class level.

Exceptional performance with 91% scoring in "Adult Occupant Protection"

ATTO 3 received the highest rating "Five-Star Safety" in the Euro NCAP, reflecting its excellent performance in various tests, especially in "Adult Occupant Protection", with a high score of 91%, near full marks in frontal, side and rear crash tests. In respect of safety equipment such as airbags, seat design, etc., as well as safety systems, it provides comprehensive and adequate protection for drivers and passengers. With ATTO 3's advanced eCall system, which can alert emergency services in the event of a crash, plus the automatic activation of the braking system after a crash to avoid secondary collision, it earned a perfect score in the "Rescue and Post-Crash Safety" test. It also scored 89% in the "Child Occupant Protection" category, and was awarded "Crash Test for Children 6 to 10 Years Old (Front and Side Impact)" and " Inspection of Child Restraint Device Installation" respectively. ATTO 3 therefore provides well-protected for adults and children also, and it is absolutely safe to drive and ride.

 

As for the "Vulnerable Road Users" and "Safety Assist" categories, ATTO 3's automatic emergency braking (AEB) system also performed well in preventing collision with pedestrians and motorcyclists. Crash-tested to the highest level of excellence, which means it can avoid collisions in most situations, making it the safest vehicle on the road.

 

Euro NCAP developed a five-star safety rating system in a bid to help consumers compare the safety performance of vehicles more easily. Safety ratings are based on a series of vehicle tests designed by Euro NCAP to simulate real-life injuries that may cause occupants in the vehicle, or accident scenes where passersby are injured or even killed. "Star" reflects the performance of the vehicle in the Euro NCAP test. The higher "star" ratings not only indicates the more outstanding test results, but also indicates that the higher safety level for the tested model according to the European standard.
